How Our Farm Shapes Our Floral Design Work
Our flower farm is located in the Chehalem Mountains of Scholls, Oregon, right in the heart of wine country. We’re lucky to work this five-acre piece of land with its mix of open, sunny fields and shaded areas, allowing us the opportunity to grow a wide range of flowers & foliage. We grow everything from woody perennials and biennials to a rotating lineup of seasonal annuals. We also recently built a high tunnel greenhouse on the property to extend our growing season!
Seed to Centerpiece Designs
Having the farm directly tied to our design studio is at the core of how we operate. The flowers we grow aren’t just part of our supply—they’re part of our creative process. When we design for weddings and events, we’re pulling from what’s in season, what’s thriving, and what feels inspiring in that moment. It brings a level of freshness and intention to our work that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. We love finding inspiration in the fields - from the gradient of colors in a single zinnia to the funky shapes of amaranth to the fragrant sweet peas.
Sustainability Starts in the Soil
We’re committed to sourcing the majority of our flowers from our own fields. When we do bring in additional product, we prioritize working with other local flower farmers who share our values. Supporting the local flower community and minimizing the carbon footprint of our work is important to us—and to many of our clients.
Sustainability on the farm goes beyond just avoiding chemicals. We’re focused on building healthy soil through regenerative growing practices, like no-till farming. That means we’re not disturbing the soil with tractors or heavy machinery, but instead allowing the complex network of microorganisms—the soil food web—to do what it does best. It takes more hands-on effort, especially in the beginning, but over time it leads to stronger plants, fewer pests, and more resilient crops.
We're incredibly lucky and proud to have a passionate and smart farm management team to help us move towards our goal. We hope our clients feel the love and care that went into their arrangements, from seed to harvest to design.
Closing the Loop & Extending the Season
We’re also working toward a closed-loop system by making our own compost on site. Flowers that don’t make it into arrangements, or that come back from events, are returned to the soil to feed the next generation of plants. It’s a simple but powerful way to reduce waste and give back to the land that supports us.
Recently, we added a high tunnel to the farm—a greenhouse-like structure that lets us grow earlier in the spring and later into the fall. It’s a step toward expanding our season and offering more local flowers to our clients throughout the year, especially during those in-between months when options can be limited.
More Than Flowers: A Philosophy of Beauty with Purpose
At the end of the day, the farm isn’t just where our flowers grow—it’s where our designs begin. Every season brings new challenges and inspiration, and it’s that connection to the land that keeps our work evolving. Whether we’re designing a bouquet for a spring wedding or creating large-scale installations for a summer event, we’re always thinking about how to bring what’s growing here into the spotlight.
